Collagen Tripeptide F (CTP-F)

01 · Overview
Collagen Tripeptide F is a commercial collagen tripeptide ingredient; collagen tripeptide preparations are rich in small peptides such as Gly-Pro-Hyp and are made by enzymatic digestion of collagen rather than as a single synthetic molecule (PMID 27573716). These hydroxyproline-containing peptides are stable in gastrointestinal fluid and plasma and are better absorbed than larger collagen peptides in rats (PMID 27573716).
It is used in topical cosmetic products and oral supplements.
02 · Research summary & key findings
In a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial of 40 women with sensitive atopic skin, a topical product containing gluco-oligosaccharide and collagen tripeptide F improved roughness, water loss, erythema, dryness, and irritation versus placebo (PMID 19496838). In a randomized trial of 84 middle-aged women, an oral collagen tripeptide reduced transepidermal water loss after 12 weeks and was well tolerated (PMID 33521019). Evidence for wound healing or connective tissue repair in humans is lacking.
03 · Regulatory status
Collagen Tripeptide F (CTP-F) is in the investigational stage. While preclinical and early-phase data exist, it has not received regulatory approval for clinical use in the United States.

Collagen Tripeptide F (CTP-F) is not FDA-approved and does not currently have a lawful prescription or compounding pathway in the United States, so we do not sell it and will not book a consultation for it.
