Overview

Matrixyl 3000 is a proprietary combination of two lipopeptides: palmitoyl tripeptide-1 (Pal-GHK) and palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7 (Pal-GQPR). The formulation is designed to synergistically promote collagen and fibronectin synthesis while reducing interleukin-6 mediated inflammation in dermal fibroblasts.

Mechanism of Action

Both peptides carry palmitic acid for enhanced lipid solubility and stratum corneum permeation.

Research Summary & Key Findings

Preclinical fibroblast assays have shown that the combination upregulates matrix protein gene expression and reduces IL-6 secretion in models of cellular senescence. Industry-sponsored clinical trials have reported reductions in wrinkle surface area and improved dermal density via ultrasound imaging after 8 to 12 weeks of topical application. Independent replication and publication in indexed dermatology journals remain limited.

Matrixyl 3000 is in the investigational stage. While preclinical and early-phase data exist, it has not received regulatory approval for clinical use in the United States.
