01 · Overview
Vialox (pentapeptide-3) is a synthetic pentapeptide marketed as a topical agent that interferes with acetylcholine receptor activation to reduce muscle contraction in areas prone to dynamic wrinkles. This neuromuscular mechanism is described by the supplier and has not been independently confirmed in peer-reviewed studies.
It is positioned alongside other neuromodulating peptides as a non-invasive alternative to botulinum toxin.
02 · Research summary & key findings
Peer-reviewed research is limited to computational and cell studies: molecular docking and dynamics simulations predicted that Vialox interacts with sirtuin-1, and it showed no toxicity to human keratinocytes in culture (PMID 42116636). A related in silico and cell study explored possible anticancer activity, unrelated to its cosmetic use (PMID 42412310). Manufacturer reports of reduced muscle contraction and improved expression lines after 28 days have not been published in indexed journals, and no clinical studies have validated its efficacy or safety.
03 · Regulatory status
Vialox (Pentapeptide-3) is in the research phase with limited clinical data in humans. Current evidence is primarily derived from preclinical (animal or in vitro) studies.
