01 · Overview

A synthetic analog of growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH) with a Drug Affinity Complex (DAC) that binds to albumin, extending its half-life from minutes to about 6-8 days in healthy adults (PMID 16352683).

CJC-1295 stimulates GH release from the anterior pituitary through GHRH receptors, and a study in healthy men found that GH pulsatility was preserved while trough GH levels rose markedly (PMID 17018654).

02 · Research summary & key findings

In randomized placebo-controlled studies in healthy adults, a single injection raised mean GH 2- to 10-fold for 6 days or more and IGF-I 1.5- to 3-fold for 9-11 days, with no serious adverse reactions reported (PMID 16352683). Clinical development did not lead to approval, and it is now mainly sold as an unregulated research compound with limited human evidence (PMID 42395176).

03 · Regulatory status

CJC-1295 is in the investigational stage. While preclinical and early-phase data exist, it has not received regulatory approval for clinical use in the United States.

CJC-1295 is not FDA-approved, and as of October 2026 FDA has not finalized whether pharmacies may compound it. Whether a pharmacy will compound it depends on the pharmacy and your state. If you are working on the goal it is studied for, a licensed clinician can tell you what is lawfully available, which may be something else.
